Ceramics by Philippa Norris

Philippa Norris recently moved from Oxford to Eynsham and has converted a summer house in the garden where she makes her objects whether they are practical functional items or animal figurines.

She specialises in slip cast procelain. Throughout her work a love of flora and fauna is apparent. There is also a nod to the traditions of Staffordshire china.

Recently Philippa has been doing more hand building of quirky animals adopting a nieve style. Philippa has also begun a new range of bowls and plates influenced by japanese nerikomi techniques involving coloured clays and pattern permeating through the pieces.

Philippa is a regular exhibitor at Oxfordshire Art Weeks and Art at Christmas which is a quality art and craft show in Summertown , Oxford.

This year Art at Christmas will take place at Summertown Community Centre, north Oxford on November 30th and December 1st from 10 to 5pm.

News

Philippa has become a member of West Ox Arts and will be taking part in a group ceramics exhibition from August 24th to September 21st. The venue is West Ox Arts, Market Square, Bampton OX18 2JH.

My studio

I am so lucky to have a very functional studio overlooking my garden, previously I was working in a cold garage. I love this new space and once again I am inspired and making and experimenting with new work and ideas.
